The Pipeliners Voluntary Fund Scholarship Award Program was developed in 1969 by George M. Lambert. He recognized that the continued progress of organized labor depends on educating our youth to promote unionism in their profession. The program was later renamed to the George M. Lambert Scholarship Program in 1999 to honor Brother Lambert’s commitment and dedication to the pipeline industry and the future working men and women. Our scholarship program is an investment in the future of our members, their families, and our local union. To date, it has helped hundreds of students enrolled in an institution of higher learning.

Each year, Pipeliners Local Union 798 Voluntary Fund awards a $7,500 Harry H. Faucett, Jr. Memorial Scholarship to the highest-scoring applicant of the George M. Lambert Scholarship Program, provided the applicant has maintained an overall 3.2 GPA in their college-level courses while seeking a bachelor’s or graduate degree. There are also ten (10) $3,000 General Scholarships awarded to the next top ten scoring applicants of the George M. Lambert Scholarship Program.
