Values
Quality
Our 75-year history is built on a reputation of quality and integrity, both of our people and our welding. In our industry, safety and quality are inseparable; you cannot have one without the other. Pipeliners Local Union 798 provides the highest quality Welders in the nation by requiring rigorous training for all its pipeline Welders. Our quality speaks for itself, with our Welders consistently performing to the highest of industry standards.
Safety
Nothing is of greater importance than your safety and the safety of your family when it comes to pipeline construction and welding in your community. Pipeliners Local Union 798 goes above and beyond to adhere to all safety requirements and enforce the best practices in pipeline and workplace safety. We are the ones literally “in the trenches,” so when we discuss pipeline safety, it is personal to our Welders and their families.
A 2013 Fraser Institute study conclusively showed pipelines to be the safest oil and natural gas transportation method, especially compared to rail and other above-ground methods. It is our commitment to keeping that fact true.
Environmental and Community Stewardship
We value many Americans’ environmental concerns regarding oil and gas, and Pipeliners Local 798 works diligently to lessen its environmental impact. Pipeliners Local 798 has a strong track record of weld integrity, which is critical in preventing environmental hazards.
All Pipeliners Local Union 798 Welders participate in an environmental orientation for every project. This orientation reviews the project’s environmental impact and teaches how to minimize it. The orientation also includes training about the landscape, habitat, and even the wildlife near the project.
When working on a pipeline project, we always want to become valued partners within the community. If you see the Pipeliners Local Union 798 logo in the community, you will know that workers genuinely care about the work they do and about you and your family.
Our Ladies of 798 group, made up primarily of our members’ spouses, makes it a point to leave a town or community better than when they arrived. This includes volunteering at local agencies and helping with fundraisers for local charities and schools.
Worker Protection
Our organization’s top priority is ensuring our workers receive fair wages, worksite protection, and good benefits, including retirement. It is crucial to us that our workers are safe when welding any pipe, so when you see our members on a job, you can rest assured we have taken every measure to ensure our Welders and you, as members of the community, are safe.
